This a weekly newsletter about the greatest reality show of all-time (The Bachelor is trash). Don’t worry if you haven’t watched every single one of the previous 39 seasons (neither have I). In fact, this newsletter is more geared towards the casual fan. If this is your first time here, subscribe below.
I don’t really have one overarching take from last week’s episode, so this week is more of a grab bag of thoughts on the episode.
THOUGHTS:
The editing so far this season has felt super heavy handed. There was very, very little mention of Tyler’s name before he was voted out unanimously.
It’s hard to say whether my normal Survivor theories apply to this season or not, but it’s beginning to seem as if they do. In that sense, it seems like the “big threats” are committing the same error they do every season: vote out all the other threats too soon and then be left without a meat shield.
Tyson perfectly called the Yul+ alliance. It’s a shame he got voted off so early, and with what feels like inadequate screen-time, since he clearly sees the game well.
Tony realized what he needed to do, but he apparently had a change of heart? Idk, it’s impossible to tell from the edit, because leading up to tribal he seemed to be voting for Nick. Either way, he is amazingly entertaining to watch, as is his alliance with Sarah.
Ring-toss game was back baby! Something about it clearly get’s Rob’s juices flowing. Hope he’s able to get a new one set up after the swap.
Adam saved his game with that buoy grab. I’m telling you, he’s going to the end. Especially if he can link up with Yul and they can bond over the Stanford connection.
Sandra at one point said, “Tyson, you in deep doo doo”
Nick finally got some screen-time! One can only hope that he ends up on the same tribe as Parvarti.
Ethan’s log trip was amazing to watch. It’s the reason the show is what it is. Edge of Extinction can stay for this season, but please don’t bring it back again.
This isn’t BuzzFeed… so I refuse to let my list not be a multiple of 5
