This a weekly newsletter about the greatest reality show of all-time (The Bachelor is trash). Don’t worry if you haven’t watched every single one of the previous 39 seasons (neither have I). In fact, this newsletter is more geared towards the casual fan. If this is your first time here, subscribe below.
If you’re one of the 8 people who read this newsletter, first of all, thanks. Second, share it with people looking for content recommendations. I hate myself for using the word content there, but I’m not sure there was an alternative.
I’m Pretty Sure Today Is Wednesday
In the real world, we have different appointments, plans, etc… to help us remember what day it is. Right now, we essentially do the same thing every single day, to the point that they’re all starting to blur together. It appears to be common experience for the players of Survivor as well. That’s why there’s a tradition — although not always shown, where players using tally marks to record the number of days spent on the island. (I took this screen shot from Day 39 on Season 34: Game Changers).
Now, the only thing that’s helping me keep time is Survivor on Wednesdays. Appointment TV is obviously a thing of the past, because there’s no reason for all of us to watch Tiger King at the same time. All of this to say, thank God I have a reason to look forward to Wednesdays right now. Now for a little bit of analysis about last week.
Denise
Don’t get me wrong, Denise’s big move was epic, but I don’t think it will serve her well in the long run. Specifically the use of her her idol on Jeremy. Kellee made a similar move last season, by saving Dean with an immunity idol. But he revealed the flaw in such plans by immediately targeting her in the next tribal. If she can make it to the Final 3, she’ll have a hell of a resume with this as the focal point. Yet that’s what will ultimately be her downfall. She’ll immediately be seen as a threat, and I think will be voted on in the next week or two. At the end of the day, loyalty doesn’t last long on Survivor, and it rarely makes sense to use an idol on someone other than yourself.
Tony & Tyson
Are hilarious. All-time performances from them last week. And on that note…
